City Council Minutes 04-07-1970 SpecialVILLAGE OF C G I ES.". Monticello, Minnesota 55362 Special Meeting Village Council April 7, 1970 8:00 P. M. The special meeting of Village Council meeting jointly with Village Planning Commission to discuss procedure for Public Hearing set for April 24th, 1970 at Monticello High School. Councilmen present: Ron Schleif, Richard Martie, William Sandberg, James Maus. Absent: Franz Swanberg. Planning Commission present: Father P. Gearty, Larry Flake, Dale Lung- witz, Dr. Erlandson, Robert Davis, Grant Schleif. Attorneys: Gary Pringle, Greg Smith Engineer: Thore Meyer Planner: Charles Tooker Mayor Schleif called meeting to order at 8:10 P.M. and introduced Charles Tooker to assemblage. Gary Pringle reported that the hearing regarding orderly annexation will be held at the high school auditorium on April 24th, 1970 beginning at 10 A.M. Representatives from the Municipal Commission will hear reports during the remainder of the day. Mr. Tooker will prepare statement on population growth, past and future, and physical development of area. Thore Meyer will report on the property structure of the proposed area. It became apparent during discussion that there were some reservations on method of procedures being pursued in the hearing processes. It was de- cided that the Planning Commission should meet separately and formulate a statement of recommendation to the Council. This statement to be presented to the Council at special meeting April 9th at 8:00 P.M. Planning Commission will meet 8.30 A.M. April 9th. Planning Commission members and resource persons were excused. Council considered the building permit application for Thomas Chock to build a 4 -unit apartment on Block 42. James Maus moved for approval, Richard Martie seconded motion. Voting in favor: Sandberg, Schleif, Martie, Maus; against: None. Meeting adjourned on motion at 10:00 P. M. C rk-Treasurer DCG/lcg
