Special meeting of Village Council January 25, 1973 -- 7:30 P. M.
The meeting was called to order at 7:30 P. M. by Mayor Bill Sand-
berg. Councilmen present were: Walt Markling, Jeff Rowan, Absent:
Dan Blonigen and Dick Martie.
The minutes for the Special Meeting of January 24, 1973 were read
and approved.
The purpose df this meeting was to discuss the contract between
the Village of Monticello and Northern States Power Company con-
cerning the issue of bonds for a pollution control project. A
presentation was made by thA Vil_1_age Attorney in this matter, Mr.
William C. Hoffman. Mr. Hoffman Is position was that there are
a number of Questionable terms in the contract and he recommended
that the contract should not be signed at this time. After con-
sultation between Mr. Hoffman and the Northern States Power Company
attorney, Mr. Arland Brusven, a decision was made to hold a Special
Meeting in the Villa7e Hall on January 30, 1973 to clarify and de-
cide upon a contract. The Village Administrator was instructed
to notify all council members of this meeting.
A motion to adjourn was made by Bill Sandberg, seconded by Walt
Markling. Voting in favor: Markling, Rowan and Sandberg. Absent:
Blonigen and Martie.
Meeting adjourned at 8:35 P. M,
