Planning Commission Resolution 2018-008CITY OF MONTICELILO WRIGHT COUNTY, MINNESOTA PLANNING COMMISSION RESOLUTION NO. PC -2018-008 A RESOLUTION FINDING THAT THE PROPOSED ACQUISITION OF CERTAIN LAND FOR REDEVELOPMENT PURPOSES BY THE CITY OF MONTICELLO ECONOMIC DE1,'E]LOPMENT AUTHORITY IS CONSISTENT WITH THE CITY OF MONTICELLO'S COMPREHENSIVE PLAN WHEREAS, the City of Monticello Economic Development Authority (the "Authority") proposes to purchase certain property (the "Property") located at 103 Pine Street in the City of Monticello (the "City") and described on the attached Exhibit A, for the purposes of eventual redevelopment; and WHEREAS, Minnesota Statutes, Section 462.356, subd. 2 requires the City Planning Commission to review the proposed acquisition or disposal of publicly -owned real property within the City prior to its acquisition or disposal, to determine whether in the opinion of the Planning Commission, such acquisition or disposal is consistent with the comprehensive municipal plan; and WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has reviewed the proposed acquisition of the Property, and has determined that the Property is located in an area designated for mixed commercial and multifamily residential uses within the City's comprehensive plan and Small Area Study, that the Authority's purpose is to redevelop the Property consistent with these uses, and that the proposed acquisition is therefore consistent with the City's comprehensive plan. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Planning Commission of the City of Monticello, that the acquisition of the Property by the Authority is consistent with the City's comprehensive municipal plan, and will promote the redevelopment of a portion of the downtown area of the City. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this resolution be communicated to the Board of Commissioners of the Authority. Adopted this 6th day of March, 2018, by the Monticello Planning Commission. EXHIBIT A Description of Property Lots 11 and 12, Block 52, City or Townsite of Monticello, Wright County, Minnesota; and that part of Lot 10, Block 52, City or Townsite of Monticello, Wright County, Minnesota described as follows: beginning at the northeasterly corner of said Lot 10; thence southerly along the southeasterly line of said Lot 10, a distance of 26.00 feet; thence westerly to a point on the northwesterly line of said Lot 10 distant 26.00 feet southerly of the northwesterly corner of said Lot 10; thence northerly along said northwesterly line to said northwesterly corner; thence easterly along the northeasterly line of said Lot 10 to the point of beginning. Subject to and together with an ingress and egress easement across the southwesterly 10.00 feet of the northeasterly 36.00 feet of said Lot 10, as measured at a right angle to and parallel with the northeasterly line thereof.
