Special meeting of Village Council - Ontober 11, 1971 - 5:00 P. M.
The meeting was called to order by Mavor Bij_1 Sandberg. Council
members present: Martie, Rowan and Blonigen. Absent: None. One
colancil seat remains vacant.
The purnose of the meeting was a HF^iRING to review the proposed downtown
development plan on narking.
The HEARING was attended by over 50 bi.isinessmen and residents.
The area for development was the narking lot west of the village hall
and the parking lot west of the Riverview Medical Center. The total
cost of these lots would be $115000 according to Mr. Thore Meyer.
This is a revision of the original proposal, which amounted to
$200,000.
There was an hour and 15 minute discussion on the subject. The
discussion was led by village engineer, Thore Meyer, and a variety
of opinions were expressed, including statements by Lloyd Lund, Con
Johnson, Dick Holker, Ken Holker, Dr. John Kasper, John Poirier,
Ken Springborg, Hugo Hillstrom, Bob Rierson, Leo Stokes, and Dr.
