The school has nothing to do with the actual school day, but is aimed at reaching the people in the community who may be interested in this tyoe of program and enabling them to use school facilities and also village facilities. The funding of the summer recreation urogram was the next item on the agenda. In the school election in 1948 the people voted to participate in the summer recreation urogram with one half of the cost being assumed by the village, and the other half by the school district. This had to be voted upon in order to make it legal. The funding was strictly for the salaries of the supervisors. At this time the merchants contributed for equipment, uniforms, etc. In 1970-1971 the school board came to the council and informed them they were going to expand their program and asked the council to participate as they had in the past. The council agreed to act in this manner. Motion was made by Walt Markling to participate equally in both the winter and summer programs with the school board in regard to the salaries of the supervisors. Second by Dick Martie. Carried -- all in favor. Motion to adjourn at 10:30 P. M. by Walt Markling, second by Jeff Rowan. So ordered. LY.r,Wea Gillham, Actin, Secretary
