Are you a resident of the City of Monticello? 2. Do your normal work hours allow you to meet with the Police Advisory Commission on Wednesday evenings during the months of January, April, July and October? 3. REFERENCE AND BACKGROUND: On July 15th the application period for the vacant seat on the Monticello Police Advisory Commission was closed, and volunteer application notices were pulled from the City's web site and the Community Center's bulletin boards. However, one notice was apparently missed and as a result one additional application was received on July 23rd. The applicant was contacted and informed that his application will be retained on file, and that if the vacant seat is not filled by one of the two current applicants, or if another seat on the Commission becomes available in December, he will be contacted to see if he is still interested in the position. B. ALTERNATIVE ACTIONS: None required. C. SUPPORTING DATA: N/A Police Advisory Commission Agenda: 7/30/09 4. Update on 2010 & 2011 hourly contract rates for Wright Countv Sheriffs Office patrol services. (BW) A. REFERENCE AND BACKGROUND: On July 28th the City received the attached letter outlining the hourly contract rates for 2010 and 2011 for the Wright County Sheriff's Office patrol services. The adopted hourly rate for 2010 is $57.50 per hour, and in 2011 the rate will increase to $59.00 per hour. In 2009 the City paid $56.00 per hour for patrol services. The current contracted number of annual hours of service is 18,980, which means the City of Monticello will be spending $1,091,350 for patrol services in 2010. As noted at the July 15th Police Advisory Committee meeting, the Sheriff s Office is not recommending an increase in hours for 2010. B. ALTERNATIVE ACTIONS: None required. C. The rate for 2010 shall be $57.50/Hour. The rate for 2011 shall be $59.00. Setting the rates for two years allows you to be able to consider your particular contract needs and budget requirements over a longer period of time, Please remember that the current contract states that municipalities must notify the County in writing prior to August 15 regarding any change in the numbers of hours to be contracted for in the coming year.
